Summary:Wallis, beaten and chained to the wall, is questioned by new breed boss. Behind the boss, something is lowered through the ceiling on a rope. It opens, a thick smoke pours out and the boss chokes and retreats. Commission team members break Wallis free; though he is groggy he seems unaffected by the smoke and is taken through the ceiling.

Discuss implications of light gun and other new technology.

Summary:

Debriefing of sewer tunnel raid, with steam-powered slide show by Fanny. Many science wonks interested in light gun technology and possibilities for new designs. Boris’s role in the battle is highlighted, and Mary again raises her vision of the clifftop figures.

  • Fanny: Does Dougal grant a separate technology development budget? (yes)

Summary:

New project designs are being constructed and more lights and prototypes are being tested; the workshop bustles with movement and activity. Fanny and MacAllister cross swords over technology but both appear to enjoy the exchange.

The subject of Boris’s wound is raised.

Summary:

Mary offers to help with Boris’s bandages, sees the wound is healed but Boris is oddly dismissive. Fanny, storming in from argument with MacAllister, realises Boris’s wound has disturbing implications.

  • Boris: Does my glib explanation convince the others to drop the matter? (yes)

Wallis tries to meet with Fanny to discuss new breed.

Summary:

Fanny is assaulted by Wallis in a frantic state, describing his capture and torture by the new breed. A Commission patrol, with Mary, discover the scene.

  • Mary: Do I see that Fanny was talking with, not fighting, the vampire? (yes)

Scene 5

Agenda:

New Breed fight with Newbury Commission alpha team.

Cast:

Boris, MacAllister, new breed vampires

Summary:

Newbury Commission alpha team expects to find Wallis but instead finds (and fights) new breed vampires. They fight briefly but the vampires disengage and run off. The team search the abandoned lair for information; a framed photo of Fanny with a healthy Wallis is found by Boris.

Stakes:
  • Boris: Do I hide the photo from the others? (no)
  • Producer: Does MacAllister see that Boris was trying to hide the photo? (yes)
